The rooftop at Orleton is an immersion of the senses. The full 360 degree experience. It’s all around you, expansive, engaging and interesting. It’s like an event, and yet it still feels like an extension of your home.
Designed to create a series of elevated moments, two pavilion structures extend toward the edges, opening to sky and panoramic views while forming a sequence of sheltered spaces.
The view begins at the water’s edge
The pool occupies the prime northern aspect, mindfully drenched in sunlight, and flanked by pool loungers endowed with a welcome allocation of shade.
The outdoor shower delivers practical purpose with wow factor aesthetics. The spa terrace invites a sense of stillness and recovery with hot and cold plunge pools and sauna.
We designed the rooftop as a true extension of home. The gym and the dining space, framed by westerly views across to Mt Coot-tha, are the perfect blend of functionality and beauty. These are spaces to be lived in, not simply admired.

Unwind in style
The rooftop includes a wellness-focused gym and private dining room designed for entertaining at scale or in smaller, more intimate settings. Landscaped pathways lead to a more relaxed backyard setting, featuring barbeque facilities, lawn areas and informal seating beneath a hibiscus tree, anchored by an outdoor fireplace.
As day transitions to evening, integrated lighting enhances the atmosphere, shifting the rooftop into a more intimate and sophisticated setting.
You’ve arrived
Coming home to Orleton means reconnecting with nature every day. Beyond the lobby, the Lounge Library overlooks a lush, garden setting, offering a tranquil retreat from the pace of the city.
Defined by expansive ceilings and a natural, garden-inspired aesthetic, the arrival experience incorporates a private meeting room, parcel lockers, mail facilities and an on-site management office. Resident access to e-bike hire further enhances convenience, while the Lounge Library provides an elegant space to meet, work or unwind.
Davies Place
Orleton is the first of three exquisitely designed buildings that collectively form ‘Davies Place’, offering the highly prized but rarely found combination of a riverfront and parkfront location.
The masterplan puts people at the heart of the project with a new pedestrian laneway running between Orleton and subsequent stages, linking Montague Road and Vulture Street to Davies Park and the river.
Davies Lane has been envisioned as a place that comes alive with new dining venues and a series of densely landscaped plazas and subtropical gardens. It has an important civic role to play in bringing people together, to enjoy the urban pleasures of coffee, food, friendship and nature.
The brilliance of the masterplan is its understanding of the character, the rhythm and flow of West End, creating places and spaces that support an inclusive community, and a built form in harmony with the environment.
Layered with greenery and spaces to pause, gather and relax, Orleton’s urban design contributes to a more active and connected streetscape.
The result is a public environment that enhances access to the Brisbane River while reinforcing Davies Park’s role as one of West End’s most valued community and recreational destinations.
The power of place
The distinctive urban design by Rothelowman strengthens the connection between Vulture Street and the Brisbane River. A new, vibrant landscaped laneway directly links Montague Road to Davies Park, and runs directly through this green heart of West End.
Newly integrated into the broader public realm, the laneway creates a welcoming pedestrian connection between the park, riverfront and surrounding neighbourhood.
